Berceuse for organ began life as an improvisation during a rehearsal for Wayne Marshall’s debut recital at York Minster.
A few years later, a good friend encouraged Wayne to commit the improvisation to paper.
Apart from a few very small harmonic changes, the piece remains faithful to the original improvisation.
Berceuse is now available in print
Wayne Marshall has performed Berceuse at numerous organ recitals over the years, and following many requests from audiences and fellow organists asking whether the piece would ever be published, it is finally available as a printed score.
Originally conceived as an improvisation, Berceuse has become one of Wayne’s much-loved works for the organ. We are delighted that, for the first time, the piece can now be purchased and enjoyed by organists wishing to perform it themselves.
