Working with the next generation is not only close to my heart but a true inspiration. I learn a huge amount from working with young people whilst also passing on (hopefully!) some useful knowledge and tips I've learned over the many years of working in this industry.
I'm very happy to be joining the Bundesjugendorchester in January! Here's what you can expect:
Benjamin Britten The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra
George Gershwin Rhapsody in Blue for piano and orchestra
Gustav Holst The Planets. Op. 32
The National Youth Orchestra is Germany's youngest top orchestra for young musicians aged 14 to 19. Their concerts are celebrated annually in the Forum am Schlosspark. Tours have taken the young ensemble throughout Europe, to North and South America, Asia and Africa.
Wayne is always looking for ways to bring classical music to young people. Benjamin Britten's "Orchestra Guide for Young People" is perfect for this, presenting the various instrumental groups of a large symphony orchestra in an entertaining and playful way, which finally reaches to the stars with Gustav Holst's world-famous orchestral suite on "The Planets": from Mars' martial marches to Uranus' will-o'-the-wisp dances to Neptune's literally unearthly rapture in the sheer endless expanses of space.
